The Mindbender “Main Class” is a charm style class and fills out it’s group by taking control of enemies in battle.
First, a Mindbender will cast Dominate on the enemy. Enemies must be humanoid leaning in order for the Mindbender’s magick to work on them (ie; Animals can’t be Dominated by Mindbender, but an Orc could be). Only 2 Dominated may be in the group at a time. Dominate will last between 20-133 turns or more depending on various factors. Dominate offers full control over movement and skills, but not gear.
Second, they will cast Subjugate on the Dominated enemy. Only 1 Subjugated may be in the group at a time (if there is already a Subjugated group member, it may portal back to town). After killing 5 enemies without dying or leaving the zone, Dominated will be removed and no longer count as one of the two Dominated in group. The Subjugated will be stripped of equipment and the Mindbender may now gear them up as a full group member.
Which leaves the Mindbender capable of having a group of 1 Subjugated (that they bring from Town or acquire in battle) + 2 Dominated that they acquire in battle.
The Mindbender may continue to collect Subjugated in this way in order to have options of what class they wish to bring to a battle zone with them, but after awhile of disuse the Mindbender will out-level them so will need to level them up or replace them with higher levels.
Charm itself is a short duration, and the enemy will remain under AI control. However, unlike Dominate, Charm does not contribute to your group limit. You may Charm as many as your Duration and Cooldown allow (well and resists / breaking).
