Alternate Advancement 2nd pass, Magick Find stat
Quote from Game Master on January 26, 2026, 10:46 amThe Alternate Advancement system has received a second pass and now contains the Weapon and Enemy Mastery trees.
Weapons:
The weapon tree offers bonuses while a specific weapon type is equipped.
Every type of weapon in the game has been added to the tree.
There is an Offense and a Defense tree with generally the same bonuses for all weapons except;
Some weapons have a capstone node that has a unique effect for that weapon, and more are being added.
Enemy Mastery:
There are 10 categories of enemy currently on the tree.
The first node grants a flat damage multiplier to all damage done to that enemy type.
The 2nd and 3rd nodes give an offense and defense bonus against that enemy type.
Magick Find:
This is a new bonus loot table that rolls separately from corpses.
There is a Magick Find stat that your entire active party contributes to, which rolls to see if the bonus loot drops and what rarities drop. (It is possible to have a common and legendary drop from the same kill)
Above 130 MF stat you get an additional roll. (Possible to have 2 common and 2 legendary drops from the same kill).
Higher MF grants higher chance to get a drop and higher chance to get rarer drops.
MF rolls on All kills, it is not mob specific.
Named mobs have an additional roll.
Some loot can only be found from MF while some can be target farmed on specific mobs as normal & also be found on MF.
Insight Fragments:
Insight Fragments are found from the MF loot table.
5 fragments can be turned in at an NPC in Central Woods for the choice of either a full AA experience bar (full point and keep current exp) OR to gain 5 regular levels on a party member that is lower level than the Main character class.
This way if you’ve left a character behind for 5 levels, rather than grind them up or replace them with a higher level, you can spend the fragments on them. Or spend fragments to gain more AA points and just charm/tame a new higher level if and when you need to.
